Questions & Answers

What is covered with the website changes/month?

Once you’ve launched your website/Funnel Page, it is imperative to keep it up to date with the latest info/images/prices etc. that’s why we’ve included these changes within your hosting fee.  Small changes would be image/text changes, additional testimonials, etc. a big change would be an additional page to be built, etc.  There are no additional costs to keep your website fresh, leaving you to concentrate on your business.  The monthly hosting fee is different for each type of website as they are all unique and some require more changes than others.

What is an SSL Certificate and what does it mean?

If you’ve noticed that some websites have the prefix https: it means they hold an SSL Certificate and their site is secure and trusted.

SSL is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remain private.

Companies that request personal information from a user, such as an email address or payment information, should have SSL certificates on their website. Having one means that the details you are collecting are private and ensures the customer that when they see that padlock and “https://”, their privacy is safe.

What else is covered with my hosting fee?

Software Updates : When we build a website we use various types of software that can quickly go out of date, get upgraded, change, etc.  we make sure any software used in your website build is kept up to date with the latest versions so will keep your site more robust with the latest software settings.

Website Back-ups : This is so important to prevent loss of data:

  • Reverse Issues During Updates.  Updates on occasion, come with their own set of issues. As necessary as they are, an update can cause something to go wrong. Now this doesn’t mean you should avoid updates. Quite the contrary in fact, they simply need to be executed with due care. Ensuring your website is fully backed up prior to updates ensures you’re fully secure should something go wrong.
  • Avoid Losing Important Data.  The very thought of losing any data associated should fill you with instant dread! Of course, it’s not just human error that results in a loss of data. Our advice is to keep on top of backups to ensure everything that’s important to your business remains secure.
  • Protect Against Potential Hackers. Whether we like it or not, hackers are out there. The consensus is often ‘it will never happen to me’, but in reality it’s ‘when’, not ‘if’. That said, providing you remain secure and employ the right safety aspects, you are doing everything you can to avoid this situation. By restoring a backup, credentials can be updated with normal service resuming.
Why are the hosting fees different for each type of website?

Each type of website is different in its functionality.  Our Landing Pages and smaller websites are of limited functionality and require less management than a larger business website which may include additional software and, by design, is much larger so may require more updates and changes. Equally, our Funnel Pages and E-Commerce/Online Store websites can require a much larger level of maintenance, with many functions and software involved.

If more changes are required than the hosting fee covers, additional charges may be incurred when necessary; and if this becomes regular, it may be more cost effective to go onto a higher hosting package.

All Websites

The hosting fee enables your website to be live and stored while being accessible on the larger web. If you want your website to be live online – in other words, if you want anyone other than you to see it – then all websites need  hosting.

As well as the above, all our websites have monthly back-ups, software updates and, because you’re with Sticky Websites, you will automatically have an SSL Certificate for web security.

Logo Design

Logos are a point of identification; they’re the symbol that customers use to recognise your business. Ideally, you’ll want people to instantly connect your logo with the knowledge of what your company does – and, more importantly, how it makes them feel.

Logo design influences our decisions

From the moment we open our eyes we build up a visual library in our mind and begin to associate fonts, shapes and colours with specific emotions and objects.

If we think a company looks too expensive, too corporate, too fun, or too radical we will avoid it. Conversely, if the logo depicts the  product or service we’re looking for, we will instantly engage with the company.

This is why it’s essential the logo correctly represents the business, as you want to attract the right audience.

The logo forms expectations of the company, and if it fails to meet those, or if the business attracts the wrong people things will start to go down hill – getting the logo right matters.

Communicate brand values & additional meaning

Although a logos primary purpose is to identify, they can also be leveraged to communicate important brand messages and values. Ideally keep it simple, sticking to just the one key idea.

First Impressions Count

With so many businesses in the world, a company has one chance to impress and attract. If the logo design fails to impress onlookers in today’s internet driven world it’s very easy to go elsewhere.

Your company logo is usually a potential customers’ first visual impression of your business.

Some business owners go down the DIY route, or use low-cost amateur designers, not understanding how damaging poor design can be for them when first impressions matter so much.

Questions & Answers

How much does it cost for a Logo to be designed?

A logo design price can vary depending on the complexity of it, please get in touch to ask about this.  We always ask for 50% to be payable before work commences. Due to the nature of logo design, we can discuss pricing once more details have been established.

How long does a logo design take?

The turnaround time for a logo from sales to completion is typically 2 weeks, which will be discussed before any payments are made. Timescales are also dependent on response time from yourself, and the number of additional changes to designs.

How many logos do I get?

Following the design process, you will be presented with some logo options based upon agreed objectives. Once final payment has been made, you will own the copyright to the final agreed design.

What if I don’t like the first set of logos at all?

We design the logo based on details which we gained from answers provided at the start of the project. This will include information about the business, and will also cover any specific requirements you may have.

We will have considered your target audience, competition etc. As a piece of design work that’s functional, a logo should perform for your business. We will cooperate with you to ensure the design achieves all criteria agreed upon, which will include any specific requests made before starting the designs.

Whilst very unlikely to happen, if you still dislike the designs, you don’t need to make full payment. Before starting the project we take 50% payment, so if you don’t like the work done for you, you don’t need to pay the final amount.

What do I get?

Once your logo design is completed I will supply your logo design in various formats to allow the use of the logo across various mediums. We will also provide a short guide to explain each format to get the best results. This is a summary of what we will provide:

  • CMYK version – Printed material is made up of 4 colours; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). This version will be ideal on any printed literature where full-colour photos are used. We will provide a CMYK version as a Vector (.ai andf PDF) to give flexibility across professional design software and office based software such as Word or PowerPoint.
  • RGB version – Unlike print colours, screen colours are made up of Red, Green and Blue, mixing the light of each colour to make up the full-colour spectrum. This will be provided as an RGB JPEG file format for web and screen use, as well as PNG where transparency is needed.

We are dedicated to helping businesses thrive and we appreciate how the smallest jobs can take your focus away from things.
